Zine Writing Virtual Gallery

ENC4380, Fall 2021

An Instagram course project from ENC4380, Feminist Zine Writing. Social critiques, personal diary rants and impassioned protests are just some of the topics commonly discussed within feminist zines. Zines are able to bypass traditional gate-keeping mechanisms that silence non-dominant voices and perspectives. As a result, zines offer a platform upon which feminists of all genders are using words, images and other non-violent discursive practices to advocate for equity, mobilize activist efforts and build and sustain community.

This gallery is a series of photos of student zines created during the semester in ENC4380. The zines are displayed in page order so that viewers can click through each page and see the zine online. #zinestagram

My Journey Towards Literacy

By Cristian Cruz Oria, ENC3416

This narrative was created for ENC3416, for the Technology Literacy Narrative Project.

Utilizing a popular social media app like “Instagram” was kind of tricky, making sure the post is cohesive, and show a whole narrative in chronological order was kind of a struggle. I think that the page came out the way I wanted it to. Each post includes multiple photo and video clips. Explore through each one to listen to the narrative.
